Dielectric strength (withstand voltage) test

The electrical strength test, commonly known as the withstand voltage test, is a measure of the ability of the electrical insulation to withstand breakdown under the action of overvoltage. It is also a reliable means of assessing whether the product is safe to use.

There are two kinds of electric strength test: one is DC withstand voltage test, and the other is AC power frequency withstand voltage test. Household electrical appliances are generally subjected to AC power frequency withstand voltage test. The tested parts and test voltage values of the electric strength test are specified and specified in each product standard.

What is the purpose of measuring the insulation resistance of electrical equipment?

The factors that affect the measured value of insulation resistance are: temperature, humidity, measurement voltage and action time, residual charge in the winding and the surface condition of the insulation, etc. By measuring the insulation resistance of electrical equipment, the following purposes can be achieved:

a. Understand the insulating properties of insulating structures. A reasonable insulating structure (or an insulating system) composed of high-quality insulating materials should have good insulating properties and high insulation resistance;

b. Understand the quality of insulation treatment of electrical products. If the insulation treatment of electrical products is not good, the insulation performance will be significantly reduced;

c. Understand the damp and pollution of the insulation. When the insulation of electrical equipment is damp and polluted, its insulation resistance will usually drop significantly;

d. Check whether the insulation withstands the withstand voltage test. If the withstand voltage test is performed when the insulation resistance of the electrical equipment is lower than a certain limit, a large test current will be generated, resulting in thermal breakdown and damage to the insulation of the electrical equipment. Therefore, various test standards usually stipulate that the insulation resistance should be measured before the withstand voltage test.

Dielectric strength (withstand voltage) tester:

RK267 series, RK7100, RK9910, RK9920 series withstand voltage (dielectric strength) testers conform to GB4706.1, according to the current category are divided into single AC and AC and DC dual-purpose two categories, according to the output voltage range is classified as 0-15kV withstand voltage tester And two types of ultra-high voltage withstand voltage testers above 20kV. The output voltage range is 0-100kV, and the maximum output current can reach 500mA. Please refer to the product center for specific parameters.
